A financial assistance package of Rs ten lakh each to dependants of those who died while defending parliament house during Thursday’s terrorist attack was announced by speaker G M C Balayogi.
The family of the gardener who was killed in the gunbattle will also be given Rs 10 lakh, a statement from the speaker's office said.
It said the amount would include the financial relief being given by the concerned agencies and the difference would be paid by the Parliament Secretariat.
One family member each of the deceased would be provided employment by the respective department as part of the package. The dependents of J P Yadav of Parliament security will be allowed to draw salary and other allowances admissible to him through the remainder of the term of service he was due to render.
Rs one lakh will be given to each of the persons injured in Thursday’s attack.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha chairman Krishan Kant has granted Rs 7.5 lakh from his discretionary grant to the family of Jagdish Prasad Yadav, Rs 50,000 each to the family of the deceased police personnel and Rs 25,000 to each injured personnel from the fund.
