Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 01: Eminent short story writer T Padmanabhan has been chosen for the prestigious 'Ezhuthachan Puraskaram' of the Kerala government for the year. The award was announced by State Culture Minister G Karthikeyan on the state-formation day today, also observed as 'Malayalam Day.' Instituted in memory of revered father-figure of Malayalam literature Thunchath Ezhuthachan, the honour carries Rs one lakh, citation and memento. " Padmanabhan's work is noted for its originality and it reveals a strikingly different world of experience before the reader," the selection committee headed by writer and academic Prof V R Probodhachandran Nair noted.
