Rear Admiral D S P Varma will take over as admiral superintendent of country`s premier ship repair yard of Indian Navy in Mumbai on Saturday.
Varma, an alumnus of National Defence Academy (NDA), was commissioned in the Indian Navy in January 1968 and will take over charge from Rear Admiral P Jaitly, who is proceeding on transfer to naval headquarters in New Delhi, according to an official release in Mumbai on Friday.
Varma did his post-graduation in radar and communication from IIT Delhi and held important assignments in his distinguished career including naval attache, Embassy of India in Paris. Bureau Report
