Hyderabad, Mar 09: The IT initiatives launched by Andhra Pradesh government in various sectors during last five years has taken the state forward and the innovative measures in E-governance have made it a nodal state in the country, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said today. "At the initial stages of it implementation it was criticised for 'rendering people unemployed', but it was proved wrong. You have to keep pace with the developments around you, otherwise you will be left behind," Naidu said adding that these new initiatives have taken the administration to the doorstep of the common man. The Chief Minister said the state government has decided to equip its 10,000 officials working in revenue, sales tax and other departments of public importance with cellphones for speedy attendance to the problems in remote areas. He said his government is already emulating the Singapore government's policy in issuing licences, permissions and other statutory orders for setting up industries on-line and cited Coco Cola plant permission, which was accorded in just a week's time.
