Nagpur, Sept 29: President of BJP's Maharashtra unit Gopinath Munde today demanded dissolution of the state assembly and holding of fresh elections along with four states in the wake of defeat of Congress candidate Anandrao Devkate in the Solapur by-polls. The Congress-NCP alliance has lost people's mandate and the right to continue in office, Munde told reporters here.
The victory of BJP-Shiv Sena candidate Pratapsinh Mohite-Patil by an unprecedented margin was historic, he said. Meanwhile, in Mumbai leader of opposition in state assembly Narayan Rane also demanded resignation of the DF government on moral grounds. He said it is Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's hometown and reflects on the performance of the government and show that people of the state have rejected his inept regime.
Pratapsinh Mohite-Patil defeated Devkate by a margin of 1,22,817 votes. Bureau Report
