New Delhi, July 19: Within hours of BJP favouring resolution on Ayodhya, NDA partner JD(U) said it was "totally opposed" to exploring the legislative option to facilitate construction of ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
"We are totally opposed to this" Janata Dal (United) general secretary and spokesman K C Tyagi told news agencies here.
He was commenting on BJP's resolution on Ram Janmabhoomi adopted unanimously at the party's national executive at Raipur that the legislative approach would be fruitful only if NDA allies as well as the parties in the opposition, especially the Congress, extend their support to it.
"We are surprised to learn about the resolution," he said adding that JD(U) was of the firm opinion that there was no question of going back to the party's earlier stand that the matter be resolved by the court or through negotiation.
