Ajmer (Raj), Apr 11: A pro-Hindu organisation today threatened to intensify its stir against land allotment to a Muslim body in village Palra claiming the land belonged to a Shiv temple, forcing the authorities to impose prohibitory orders around the "disputed site." A gathering of villagers, organised by the Shiv Sangharsh Samiti at Palra, about 15 km from Ajmer, yesterday, offered to purchase the land at 10 per cent above the rate on which it had been allotted to the body, spokesman of the samiti, Purshottam Vaishnav, told reporters today. "The samiti decided to intensify its agitation by holding indefinite dharna at the district collectorate from April 16 if the allotment was not cancelled as the property belonged to a temple of Lord Shiva," Vaishnav claimed. The villagers have been holding relay dharna for over a month demanding cancellation of allotment and installation of Shiva's idol. Meanwhile, the district administration today extended the prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC around the disputed land till April 25. The orders were promulgated on March 25 in wake of agitation till April 10.
