Jamshedpur, June 18: Salkhan Murmu, a dissident BJP Member of Parliament from Mayurbhanj constituency of Orissa, today challenged the party high command to expel him from the party for alleged anti-party activities instead of issuing verbal threat. "I will continue to fight for the economical, social and political interest of majority Adivasis-Moolvasis of Jharkhand,” Murmu announced here, adding that "no action of BJP high command would have any impact on my struggle to protect the interest of the tribals".

Saying that "there is no threat to Vajpayee government at the Centre as far as number game is concerned", Murmu asked "why is the BJP then hesitating to initiate disciplinary action against me".

Murmu strongly denied that he had indulged in anti-party activities but admitted that he has been raising voice for the rights of tribal populace of the state. He said he would continue to struggle for Adivasis-Moolvasis irrespective of the action initiated by the BJP high command.

However, Murmu made it clear that he would not resign from Lok Sabha membership of his own but would raise his voice in the House in favour of the tribals.

Murmu's reaction came following BJP presdent Venkaiah Naidu's recent statement at Ranchi that the party would certainly take action against the dissident leader for his alleged anti-party activities.
