Patna, Aug 14: A Patna court has refused to grant stay of the telecast of the controversial Sabe TV serial "Ramkhilawa CM 'n Family" but served show-cause notices on its director, producer and artistes.
Chief judicial magistrate, Patna, S K Srivastava, while hearing a title suit filed by a senior advocate Radharaman Pradhan yesterday, declined to permit stay on the telecast of the serial.
Srivastava, however, served show-cause notices on Sabe TV chairman Gautam Adhikari, vice-president Markand Adhikari, chief public relations officer V Verma, director of the serial Vijay Acharya alias Vijay Krishnan, presenter and writer Ashwini Dhir, artistes Vineet Kumar, Sushmita Mukherjee and Sanjay Mishra, to explain their position why the telecast of the serial should not be banned.
Pradhan, in his title suit, has sought a permanent ban on the telecast of the serial.
The petitioner alleged that the serial depicted Biharis in a poor taste and presented the life style of the present Chief Minister in a perverted manner.
