No competition with Fawad Khan: Imran Abbas
Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, who will be seen in Muzaffar Ali`s upcoming period-drama `Jaanisaar`, says he is not insecure of fellow Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
New Delhi: Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, who will be seen in Muzaffar Ali's upcoming period-drama "Jaanisaar", says he is not insecure of fellow Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
The actor said he admires Fawad a lot as he has a different style of acting.
"Fawad has a different style of acting and he has a lot to show. He is brilliant and he is doing wonderful. I always pray for his success," he said in an interview.
Imran was in the capital to launch the music of his film, directed by "Umrao Jaan" helmer, Ali. The romantic saga also stars debutant Pernia Quereshi.
Imran, who debuted with Bipasha Basu-starrer "Creature 3D", said he has worked with Fawad in the past and even then there was no competition between the two.
"We have worked together on a show in Pakistan. If there would've been comparisons and I would've been competitive, I would've never worked on a show where two actors were there.
"I played the role of his elder brother. So, I never compare myself. I think a person destroys himself if he starts comparing with others."
"Jaanisaar", set 20 years after the first war of Indian independence of 1857, features Imran as a Prince who falls in love with a courtesan (Qureshi).
Incidentally, Fawad also played a Prince in his debut movie "Khoobsurat", which starred Sonam Kapoor.
Imran is best known for his performance as Hammad on the Pakistani serial "Khuda Aur Muhabbat". The actor, who debuted on TV in 2007 and has went to star in many serials, says that he is hesitant to feature on Indian soap operas as they require a longer commitment.
"I am a little hesitant to do Indian television because it requires a long commitment. The soap operas here have many episodes, and you need to give 6 months to one year for the show. In
Pakistan, an actor shoots for one month and the show runs for four months on air," he said.
The actor said he considers megastar Amitabh Bachchan as his inspiration.
"I am highly inspired by Amitabh Bachchan. He has more passion, energy and the will to work than the young actors. He is unmatched. There can be nobody like him."
Imran also confessed that he is a fan of all the three Khans and feels they are different from each other.
"I am a huge fan of all the three Khans. Aamir has his own style, Salman I like a lot and Shah Rukh has his energy. They have no similarities, except for their stardom."
Talking about the actresses he wants to work with in Bollywood, Imran named Kangana Ranaut as he was highly impressed with the actress.
"I really like Kangana. I saw her 'Queen' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' and I think she is a very good actress. She's very natural and refined. I also like Kareena Kapoor Khan."
"Jaanisaar" will release this Friday in India and on August 27 in Pakistan.
