Obama quotes Shah Rukh Khan in meet, actor promises `Chhaiya Chhaiya` next time
As the entire nation was glued to the impressive speech by US President Barack Obama, little had we in mind that a famous dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan`s 1995 film `Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge` will be improvised in his address.
New Delhi: As the entire nation was glued to the impressive speech by US President Barack Obama, little had we in mind that a famous dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan's 1995 film 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' will be improvised in his address.
Obama during the town hall meet at Siri Fort auditorium quoted in somewhat broken Hindi, “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein... or something like this. You know that," he said to a loud cheer from students and activists.
Not only this, while talking about various important issues between the two nations—he even mentioned how actor Shah Rukh Khan is very popular in the United States. He said, “India takes pride in people like Milkha Singh, Mary Kom, Kailash Satyarthi, no dearth of talent in India.”
Meanwhile, actor Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle and thanked US President for the special mention. The 49-year-old actor posted: "Proud 2 b part of the gender & religion equality speech of Pres. Obama. Sad he couldn't do the Bhangra...next time Chaiyya Chaiyya for sure"
