Beijing, June 27: External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha has said that Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ six-day visit to China has given a boost to the Sino-Indian relations. Speaking to Zee News correspondent in Beijing on the last day of the China visit, the minister said that the foresight shown by the leadership of the two nations despite the presence of differences on certain issues was commendable. He said the coming days would see increased cooperation between India and China on various multinational fora.
Sinha, however, denied charge that India had conceded much on Tbet while receiving less on Sikkim. “In the Border Trade Agreement signed by the two countries, there is no change in India’s stated stand on Tibet. However, the language used for Sikkim shows that considerable progress has been made on the issue,” he said. Bureau Report
