New Delhi, Oct 17: An MCD tribunal today remanded
back to DDA, its case against socialite Bina Ramani on the
"unauthorised constructions" at the Qutab Colonnade in South
Delhi, where model Jessica Lal was murdered on April 30, 1999.
Finding that DDA had not submitted the exact nature of
its allegations, presiding officer of MCD appellate tribunal B
S Mathur asked the authority to make clear by March 2004,
details about the measurement of the construction and the
period during which it was carried out.
Taking note of the inconclusive evidence produced by DDA
regarding the building's age, the tribunal also directed it to
produce a report from a laboratory dealing with the subject.
The tribunal also directed Ramani against making any
alterations to the structure and to maintain status quo.
DDA had issued three notices to Ramani in 1996, 1999 and 2000 following allegations that she had made certain additions to the structure, throwing the rule book to the wind.
