Mumbai, July 07: A police constable, apparently depressed over the death of close relatives, today committed suicide by hanging himself in a police station here, police said. Suresh Shankar Gujar (32) was disturbed for the last few months due to the death of his father and son, police inspector Bhaskar Wagh said.
The incident came to light at the M R A Marg police station at 9.20 am. The body was taken to J J Hospital for post-mortem.
Wagh denied that job-related frustration was the reason behind the constable's extreme step.
He said the constable was given leave whenever he demanded and was also kept away from hectic duty.
Gujar is survived by his mother, wife and a son, police said. Bureau Report
