New Delhi, July 22: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd today said it has bagged a Rs 21 crore order for steam turbine generator (STG) sets from Gujarat Ambuja Cements Ltd. GACL had placed orders for two 15 mw STG sets for its upcoming 30 mw captive power plant at its Ropar cement factory near Chandigarh, Bhel said in a statement here.
The captive power plant will cater to the entire power requirement of the cement unit.
"The order worth Rs 21 crore has been won by Bhel against stiff competition from Japanese and European multinational equipment suppliers," it said.
Bhel had earlier supplied and commissioned a 15 mw STG set for GACL's captive power plant at Maratha cement factory near Chandrapur in Maharashtra.
Bhel's scope of work in the present contract envisages manufacture, supply and supervision of erection and commissioning of 2x15 mw STG sets with associated auxiliaries. The equipment will be manufactured by company's Hyderabad plant. Bureau Report
