Islamabad, Aug 09: Pakistan hopes that India will live up to its "commitment" to hand over the house of Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Mumbai to it, foreign office spokesman Masood has said. He said this when asked to comment on minister of state for external affairs Digvijay Singh's statement in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that Jinnah's house at Malcha Hill in Mumbai had been handed over to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and part of it would be used for cultural activities. Singh said the property has since been renamed ICCR Mumbai branch office.
During the Agra summit, President Pervez Musharraf had asked Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to lease the house to Pakistan.
