New Delhi, Dec 04: The fate of 5,000 plus candidates for 590 seats that went to polls for crucial assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Delhi on December 1, will be decided today when the counting of votes will be taken up.
All the results for the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh, 200 in Rajasthan, 90 in Chhattisgarh and 70 in Delhi are expected to be announced by the evening as electronic voting machines were used in all the four states.
Among those whose fate would be decided are Chief Ministers of Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Sheila Dikshit, Ashok Gehlot, Digvijay Singh and Ajit Jogi respectively.
Among BJP leaders whose fortunes are sealed in the evms are the party's Chief Ministerial candidates in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi Vasundhara Raje, Uma Bharti and Madan Lal Khurana respectively.
The counting would start at 0800 hours and early trends are expected to be available within a few hours.



A strong posse of security personnel have been deployed at all the counting centres in the four states where electronic voting machines have been kept.



Exit polls on television channels after the elections have predicted a clear win for BJP in Madhya Pradesh and the possiblity of a hung assembly in Rajasthan and Chhattishgarh with Delhi clearly going in favour of Congress.
