Patiala, Nov 08: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh yesterday described state Director General of Police (DGP) A A Siddiqui as a nice and competent officer and said that he would complete his tenure as the top head of the police department. Talking to newsmen here the chief minister said that whatever had happened about transfers of police officers in the absence of the DGP who was attending a conference of DGPs in Delhi was due to lack of communication.

Amarinder Singh said, "as home minister I have full authority to transfer police officers". He will complete his full term as DGP, the Chief Minister added.
