New Delhi, Dec 02: Tatas today said it has sent a letter to Department of Telecom accepting terms and conditions for acquiring unified access licences in seven new circles, specified in its letter of intent (LoI). "We have sent the letter of acceptance to the terms and conditions for the seven new circles, for which we were granted the letter of intent recently. The payment would be made when the draft agreement is ready," Ashok Sud, chief officer (corporate affairs) of Tatas said.
The letter of acceptance was sent on Friday, he added.
"According to the letter of intent, DoT will give us the agreement in three weeks and then we will get two weeks to make the stipulated payment," Sud said.
Tatas were issued LoI for seven circles of Kolkata, Rajasthan, Bihar, Orissa, UP (east), Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, last month.
Earlier, Tata Teleservices had acquired the letter of intent for basic licence of four circles of Uttar Pradesh (west), Haryana, Punjab, and Kerala.
The company is currently operating in six states, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
