Rourkela, Aug 09: Railway police arrested about 270 persons belonging to various political parties who staged a rail roko at the railway station here demanding immediate implementation of the Talcher-Bimalagarh railway line project. They sat on the railway track for three hours disrupting traffic on the Mumbai-Howrah main line. Among the arrested were ruling BJD MLA Ajit Das, ruling BJP MLA Sankar Oram and convenor of the Talcher-Bimalagarh Railpath Sangharsh Samiti and former legislator, Braja Kishore Mohanty. The agitation caused the Alleppey-Bokaro Express and Puri-Hatia Tapaswini express to be stranded at the Rourkela station.
