Sam Smith gets interested in Egyptian artefacts

New York: Singer Sam Smith felt inspired to buy a collection of Egyptian artefacts after spending time with singer Adam Lambert here last week.
"Adam's passion has rubbed off on Sam. His first tattoo was the Egyptian Eye of Horus, which he got right before 'American Idol' to "protect" hit on the show. The first thing Sam did when he got back to the UK was check out the pieces in the gallery," a source told The Sun newspaper, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Smith's splurge comes just after he quit Twitter following the furore sparked by his claim that he was the first homosexual man to win an Oscar, which he made on stage as he collected his Best Original Song Academy Award for his James Bond theme "Writing's on the Wall" last month.
The 23-year-old singer's claim was rubbished by screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, who pointed out to him on Twitter that he won the Best Original Screenplay Academy Award in 2009 for "Milk".
