Gangtok: Sept 11: A meeting of the eight-state regional bloc North Eastern Council (NEC) will begin here today. NEC chairman and Assam Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Ajai Singh reviewed the preparations for the meeting along with secretary P L Thanga and other advisors. NEC meeting, chaired by its chairman, is generally held twice a year, last being organised at Guwahati in November 2002. Besides the Governors, the Chief Ministers are also the members of the bloc.
