New Delhi, Nov 19: Stepping up its offensive against Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh, the VHP today said it would petition President A P J Abdul Kalam to take action against him for his "anti-Hindu and illegal" actions. "We will be submitting a memorandum to the President against the prejudicial and discriminatory actions of the Chief Election Commissioner and urge him to use his influence and take action against Lyngdoh," VHP president Vishnu Hari Dalmia told reporters here.
Claiming that Election Commission had no jurisdiction to give any directive to the state government till the elections are notified, he said, "the orders to prevent VHP's yatra in Gujarat was "illegal" and showed the CEC's "anti-Hindu" bias.

Earlier, the VHP had described Lyngdoh's actions as "politically motivated" and done "at the behest of Vatican". Bureau Report
