Washington: Wedding bells seem to be ringing for Mariah Carey and James Packer as they recently got engaged.

While popping the big question to 45-year-old Carey, Packer got down on one knee with around 35 carats engagement ring in her hometown, E! Online reports.

An insider revealed that the couple fell head over heels in love with one another a year ago and both are now very happy.

The source continued that the 'O Holy Night' hit-maker and Australian businessman have a connection that is unparalleled and both wants to make each other happy.

Notably, they had been friends since 2014 and had first met at a movie premiere in Aspen.

This will be the third marriage for both. Mariah is mother to 4-year-old twins, son Moroccan Cannon and daughter Monroe Cannon, with Nick Canon, while James is dad to three children Indigo, Jackson and Emmanuelle Packer.
