Ahmedabad, July 07: A three-member team of the National Human Rights Commission is visiting Ahmedabad today and will go to Vadodara tomorrow.
The visiting team includes registrar of law, Ajit Bharihoke and deputy inspector general of investigation Sudhir Chaudhari. They will be joined by special rapporteur for NHRC in Gujarat, P G J Nampoothri.
The NHRC visit comes in less than ten days after a sessions court in Vadodara granted bail to the 21 accused in the Best Bakery massacre in which 14 people were burnt to death during the post-Godhra riots in Gujarat.
Meanwhile, a special court in Ahmedabad has rejected the bail application of Maulana Hussain Umerji, a key accused in the burning of the Sabarmati Express at Godhra last year.
