Putrajaya (Malaysia), Oct 14: United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan has cancelled a visit to Malaysia to attend an Islamic summit, a UN official said today.
"We received a fax saying the trip is cancelled," said the official on condition of anonymity. "No reasons were given why the trip was put off," he said.
Annan was due to arrive in Malaysia tomorrow for a summit of the 57-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC). On Saturday the UN announced that Annan had cancelled a visit to India from October 12 to 14.
