Bhopal, Oct 20: Strongly objecting to a rape victim being produced on the dais at a BJP rally addressed by the Prime Minister here, Chief Minister Digvijay Singh today said its legal aspects are being examined for necessary action. Experts are examining whether it was legally proper on the part of BJP leader Uma Bharati to present Jamunibai, victim of rape in 1994, before the public at the rally held yesterday, Singh told reporters here.

Moreover, the accused in the case have already been convicted, he said adding the incident had happened nine year ago and producing the woman in full public view could involve human rights violation.
In a statement, Pradesh Congress Committee president Radhakishan Malviya sought an apology from Uma Bharati for presenting a rape victim before people as it amounted to "insult and humiliation" of all women.

The Prime Minister should also express anguish over this `shameful' act, he added.
