Jammu, Aug 15: An officer of Border Security Force was injured in shelling by Pakistani troops in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said today.
Targetting forward defence locations in Khanetar area, Pakistani troops fired several mortar bombs from across the Line of Control (LoC) yesterday, they said.
One of the shells exploded near one of the fields resulting in the splinter injuries to the Assistant Commandant of BSF P S Maan, they said, adding he was later shifted to hospital in Rajouri.
Exchange of shelling between two sides was also reported for two hours in Kalal area of Noushera sector in Rajouri district yesterday. However, there was no report of any loss or damage on our side, they said.
Small arms firing exchange along the international border (IB) also took places in Samba and R S Pura sectors since yesterday without any casualty or damage on Indian side, the sources said.
