Lucknow, Sept 28: Uttar Pradesh Congress media
in-charge and MLC Siraj Mehndi was today quizzed by the CBI in
connection with the Madhumita Shukla murder case.
Mehndi, who was served a notice by the investigating
agency, was grilled by CBI sleuths at its Indira Nagar office
about his relations with the controversial former state
minister Amar Mani Tripathi, family sources told media persons.
Tripathi is already in CBI custody in connection with the
murder case.
Congress sources here said that Mehndi and Tripathi had
friendly relations and both had left the party to form a new
outfit – the Loktantrik Congress Party - but drifted apart after
Tripathi joined the BSP while Mehndi went to the Nationalist
Congress Party. Mehndi later joined the Congress again.
