Lucknow, Sept 28: Uttar Pradesh Congress media in-charge and MLC Siraj Mehndi was today quizzed by the CBI in connection with the Madhumita Shukla murder case. Mehndi, who was served a notice by the investigating agency, was grilled by CBI sleuths at its Indira Nagar office about his relations with the controversial former state minister Amar Mani Tripathi, family sources told media persons. Tripathi is already in CBI custody in connection with the murder case. Congress sources here said that Mehndi and Tripathi had friendly relations and both had left the party to form a new outfit – the Loktantrik Congress Party - but drifted apart after Tripathi joined the BSP while Mehndi went to the Nationalist Congress Party. Mehndi later joined the Congress again. Bureau report
