Raipur, June 24: Accusing the NDA government of
working on a "deal" to abandon the Kashi and Mathura temple
issues, the VHP today said the Deputy Prime Minister L K
Advani should take up the Ram temple issue and initiate steps
for formulation of a law for its construction at Ayodhya.
VHP international president Ashok Singhal alleged the
government is involved in a deal to abandon the Kashi and
Mathura temples issue. "Andar hi andar soudebazi kar rahe hai
ki kashi aur Mathura ko tyag diya jayega our Ram mandir ke
bagal mein masjid banega", he said alleging VHP was kept in
dark about it which was nothing but humiliation to Hindu
society.
"If the government fails to get the legislation passed in
Parliament it should resign and seek a fresh mandate",
Singhal told reporters here.
He said Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not
associated with the Ram Mandir movement but since Advani had
taken up the issue, he urged him (Advani) to take up the issue
once again as it was an opportunity for him to get the
confidence of the entire Hindu society.
"If without Vajpayee, Advani could take out a Rath Yatra why not he come forward this time", Singhal asked.
VHP will not tolerate any compromise on the issue of three temples although 30,000 temples were destroyed in the country and 3000 mosques were built in their place, he said.
"If BJP continued without fulfilling its promises then in the next elections the party could be reduced to two once again," Singhal said.
