New Delhi, Dec 07: Shadowed by Ajit Jogi's audio tape controversy, a crucial meeting of the Congress Working Committee began here today to take stock of the political situation in the wake of party's rout in three states--Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Rajasthan and to finalise strategies for the future.
All the members of the CWC and its special invitees, members of political affairs committee, chief ministers of party ruled states as also those who lost the assembly polls are attending the crucial meeting to analyse threadbare the various causes leading to worst ever debacle of the party.
AICC general secretary in-charge of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Ambika Soni has offered to resign taking moral responsibility for the party's drubbing in the two states.
Though the party has ruled out any major changes in the organisational set up, mood of a section of party leadership was hostile towards some leaders handing the affairs of the three states and may demand restructuring of whole party set up to prepare the party for the next polls, sources said.
