New Delhi, Feb 09: Reliance Infocomm today announced its entry into pre-paid segment with its new scheme where the customers could get a Motorola C131 mobile phone for Rs 3,500 and in return get a recharge coupon worth Rs 3,240 valid for six months. "Under the scheme, customers will pay Rs 3,500 for a Motorola handset and in return get a free RIM pre-paid connection and recharge voucher worth Rs 3,240 valid for six months with an additional grace period of six months," a company official said here. The scheme would be operational from February 11.
During the grace period, subscribers would be able to get the incoming calls and SMS without recharging their account.

On local calls, intra-circle and inter-circle calls of less than 50 kms distance to another mobile phone, a flat rate of Rs 2.49 per minutes would be charged and all inter- circle calls above 50 kms would be charged Rs 2.99 per minute.
All local calls, intra-circle and inter-circle calls of upto 200 kms to a fixed line phone, subscribers would have to pay Rs 2.99 per minute and all inter-circle calls of above 200 kms would be charged a flat rate of Rs 3.99 per minute.
The tariff for the pre-paid is among the lowest in the industry, Reliance claimed.
