Lucknow, Aug 31: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said that he would constitute his cabinet soon after proving his majority in the 402-member state assembly. The assembly has been convened from September 2.

Yadav, who had taken the oath alone on August 29, said that Governor Vishnu Kant Shastri, while extending invitation to him to form the government, had given him 14 days from the swearing in day to prove majority in the state assembly.

"As such, I will have to prove my government's majority in the Vidhan Sabha any day before September 11," Yadav said and expressed confidence that he would "easily" do the same.
Yadav, while staking claim to form the government in his August 28 letter to the Governor, had claimed support of 210 MLAs.

In reply to a question, the chief minister said his government's priority was to maintain law and order and ensure communal amity and social harmony.

He said that all announcements made by him soon after taking the oath were executed the same day.
