The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday feigned ignorance about the government appeal to the Supreme Court to allow a symbolic puja in Ayodhya which was rejected by the apex court. BJP parliamentary party spokesman and party's chief whip in the Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that as far as he knew no such an appeal to the court was made. The government, he said, had only said that under certain circumstances if a puja was allowed it would have no objection.
Asked if his party was satisfied by the verdict, he said at least the 'secular brigade' should now be happy. He said the government was one hundred per cent sure that there would be no problem in Ayodhya. There would have been no problem even if the court verdict had been there or had it been otherwise, he added.
