Bhubaneswar, Aug 13: Continuing the reforms in
Orissa jails, the authorities today allowed 15 convicts of the
special jail here to make a spiritual journey.
The convicts, clad in saffron, joined the hordes of 'bole bom' worshippers who carry water from rivers either to the loknath temple at Puri or Lingaraj temple here as a ritual walking long distances during this time of the year.
All the convicts had served more than 14 years in the jail and were keen to reform themselves, jail sources said.
They were allowed to go without being escorted by any security personnel except an assitant jailor who was with them to guide them on the way.

All of them later offered Puja at the temple before
returning to the jail, the sources said.
