Mumbai, Feb 04: A visibly perturbed outgoing Mumbai Police Commissioner Dr Parvinder Singh Pasricha cried foul over his abrupt transfer by the Maharashtra government. ''I am aware who the person is behind this. I am not going to name him'', Pasricha told a select gathering of newspersons at his chamber at the police commissionerate in Crawford Market here.
Pasricha, appointed just over two months ago as police chief has been replaced by Amin Roy, Pune Police Commissioner.
''I am sad and upset,'' he said, a few hours after state Chief Secretary Ajit Nimbalkar informed him about his transfer.
''I was about to take some important steps. On Saturday and Sunday, I had finalised the check-list for the work to be done. And two days later, I am out of Mumbai Police,'' he said.
''Some people might have been unhappy because of the steps that I had taken during the past two months,'' he said.
Pasricha has been elevated to the rank of Director General of Police and posted as Managing Director of the Maharashtra Police Housing Corporation.
