Over 70 per cent polling in Chhattisgarh

However, the voter turn out was very low in the Naxalite- infested Dantewada district, which registered 38 per cent polling, he told.
Saria constituency in Raigarh district recorded the highest polling percentage of 87.2, while the Naxal-infested Bijapur and Konta constituencies of Dantewada recorded the lowest 32 per cent polling, Dewangan said.
Dhamtari district recorded the highest 82.66 per cent voter turn out, he said.
Over 80 per cent polling was recorded in 10 seats, between 75 and 80 in 18, between 70 and 75 in 26 and between 60 and 70 in 23, he said. In 13 constituencies the polling percentage was less then 60.
Mahasamund district recorded 77.65 per cent polling, Jashpur 74.43, Korea 67.15, Sarguja 62.43, Raigarh 79.31, Korba 65.4, Jogi's home district Bilaspur 68.42, Janjgir-Champa 72.45, Raipur 73.29, Dhamtari 82.66, Kanker 60.91, Bastar 51.83, Dantewada 38 Durg 73.97, Rajnandgaon 77.26, and Kawardha 74.39, he said.
