Reports from Nagaon district said, six villages under Kachua revenue circle had been inundated by the flooded river Barpani which also breached three embankments, the sources said.

The rain fed Barpani river flowing into the neighbouring hill district of Karbi Anglong submerged at least three villages under Baithalangsu police station, they said. The police station was also inundated forcing the policemen to move documents and armoury to higher places.
