Srinagar, July 28: Ridiculing the National Conference charge that the ruling PDP-led coalition in Jammu and Kashmir has compromised the interests of the state, party president Mehbooba Mufti today said the government had successfully persuaded the Centre to endorse its healing touch policy.
"NC president Omar Abdullah has himself admitted that his party was speaking the language of the Centre instead of the people of the state. "Contrary to this, our government has managed to get the endorsement of not only the NDA government but other major parties also to the healing touch policy", Mehbooba told agencies on her party completing four years of formation.
The NC had turned into a proverbial "more loyal than the king" in towing the line of the Centre and had neglected the state and its people, she said. "We have a very good relation with the Centre but we have not deviated from our programme and policies. In fact, the Centre has endorsed our line of action in the state", she said.

Mehbooba, who floated PDP alongwith her father chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on this day in 1999, said the visits of prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the statements they made here were in line with the policy of her party.

Vajpayee's statement at the historic rally at Srinagar in April led to a thaw in Indo-Pakistan relations which is leading to prospective dialogue between the two countries to resolve their outstanding issues, she added.
