Chandigarh, Nov 08: Punjab Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh, today expressed his deepest concern over the events in Chennai, wherein the top editors of "The Hindu" and Tamil daily "Murasoli" have been targeted. Terming the action as "a direct and unprecedented violation of the freedom of the press," the Chief Minister said, "The press must at all times be allowed to work and express itself freely and fearlessly." The Chief Minister expressed the hope that “in keeping with India's great democratic traditions and values, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly would reconsider its decision and drop all action against the targeted journalists,”an official release said here.
