Naren Kumar to lead team MRF challenge
New Delhi, June 03: Team MRF will be fielding a strong five-car contingent for the second round of Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) at Nasik on June 7-8.
New Delhi, June 03: Team MRF will be fielding a strong five-car contingent for the second round of Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) at Nasik on June 7-8.
Heading the team MRF challenge at the Motorsports of India (MAI) rally will be reigning national champion V R Naren Kumar from Coimbatore, a press release said here today.
Naren, along with co-driver D Ramkumar, had won the coffee day championship rally, the first round of the INRC, at Chikmagalur last month in a comprehensive fashion.
At the Nasik event, Naren Kumar, the 2001 Asia zone champion, will have the experienced Moosa Sherif as his co-driver since Ramkumar, also of Coimbatore, is busy with his marriage.
The other members of team MRF are: Chandigarh's Karandip Singh and co-driver Jaidas Menon of Bangalore, the 2000 group (unmodified) national champions, who finished second overall at Chikmagalur; seven times national champion Narayanaswamy Leelakrishnan of Coimbatore and co-driver Farooq Ahmed of Chikmagalur, who were placed third overall at Chikmagalur; Arjun Balu and co-driver R Kumar, who took the fourth overall spot at Chikmagalur and the 2001 group (140cc) national champion Vikram Mathias with co-driver Sujith Kumar.
All the team MRF entries will be driving Honda city V-Tec car in the 1600cc category.
