Chennai, Sept 01: PMK founder Dr S Ramadoss today demanded general amnesty to the forest brigand Veerappan.
He told reporters at Vellore that the government had spent Rs.500 crore in the past ten years and lot of manpower had been wasted in the name of operations against the brigand. He said that Tamil Nadu and Karnataka governments should co-operate to rescue former Karnataka minister Nagappa from the clutches of Veerappan.
He described as "absurd" the Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa's statement that there was a suspicion that the DMK president M Karunanidhi might have links with Veerappan.
