Mumbai, Aug 28: The Sena-BJP today staged a demonstration here demanding imposition of President's rule in Maharashtra in the wake of twin blasts in the city on Monday, which claimed 52 lives and left over 130 injured.
The party workers alleged that there had been a total failure of the constitutional machinery and a serious deterioration of the law and order.
The demonstrators, carrying placards and flags, shouted slogans against the DF government.
The saffron combine was denied permission to hold the demonstration at Hutatma Chowk in south Mumbai and hence was forced to shift its venue to Azad Maidan.
Leader of the opposition in the state assembly Narayan Rane, BJP state president Gopinath Munde were among those who attended the demonstration.

The Sena-BJP combine had yesterday carried out a silent march from Gateway of India to Mantralaya in memory of those killed in the blast.
