Bhopal, Nov 18: Madhya Pradesh Congress today claimed that the Judeo cash on camera episode would have an adverse impact on BJP's poll prospects and lead to its defeat in the forthcoming assembly elections in five states. "Besides Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, in the other poll-bound states also BJP is bound to suffer a severe setback due to alleged acceptance of bribe by its union Minister Dilip Singh Judeo", Congress media committee chief in Madhya Pradesh Suresh Pachauri told reporters.
Describing as "Tehelka-II" the reported record showing Judeo accepting bribe to give mining rights to an Australian firm in Chhattisgarh and Orissa," he said "it has not only finished the credibility of Judeo but also given a severe blow to BJP's image all over".
He alleged that the CBI inquiry announced by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee into the matter was simply aimed at prolonging the process and demanded immediate arrest of Judeo and registration of a criminal case against him.
