Los Angeles: Actress-comedian Amy Poehler will produce a royal-family comedy, "Dumb Prince", penned by "The Mindy Project" writer Charlie Grandy.
The Universal Television show is a half-hour family comedy which follows a reluctant crown prince as he attempts to run the family business his way, thereby throwing his highly publicised and dysfunctional family into chaos, said The Hollywood Reporter.
NBC has ordered a pilot production commitment at the network for the show which will be executive produced by Dave Becky, Brooke Posch along with Grandy and Poehler.
The duo previously collaborated on NBC's "Saturday Night Live", where Grandy was a writer and produced Weekend Update with the 44-year-old "Parks and Recreation" star among its
anchors.
Poehler will be next seen in "Sisters" releasing on December 18, which co-stars Tina Fey.
Grandy's credits include "The Office" and "The Daily Show".
