Panaji, Dec 29: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrived here today on a four-day holiday to Goa, by a special IAF plane amidst tight security.
Vajpayee, accompanied by his family members, was received at Dabolim airport by governor Kedar Nath Sahani, chief minister Manohar Parrikar and his cabinet colleagues, official sources said. Soon after his arrival, the Prime Minister left by a helicopter to the Taj Exotica at Benaulim in south Goa, where he would stay for four days and celebrate the new year before returning to Delhi on January 01.

The security around the hotel and all over the state has been tightened in view of Vajpayee`s visit, sources said. In addition to the local police force, around 800 personnel of the rapid action force of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been deployed to maintain law and order in the state during the period, sources added.
