London, May 21: Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has stripped off in the window of a London department store to have a cast made of her famed body. Just 14 weeks after giving birth to her second child, Elle Macpherson, nicknamed 'The Body', posed for the cast in a shop window on London's busiest shopping street on Wednesday (May 21). The cast was part of an interactive 'work in progress' window display at Selfridges department store, which organisers said would develop over two weeks resulting in a sculpture immortalising 'The Body'. The cast will be auctioned off to raise money for children's charity Ark. Thirty-nine-year-old Macpherson, who had her second child in February, said she had only one complaint about the making of the cast. "The plaster was very cold," she said. "The guys that were working on me were fantastic. They were just so efficient, very professional. And you know it's quite heavy, it's layers and layers and layers of the plaster and you have to stand very still. And then they've got the scrims and then they put poles on there and then they have to peel it off. And then they'll do some work on it I suppose, trim it down a bit. But it was fun, it was an interesting process. I would like to have had warm water in the plaster, but apart from that it was good," she said.


After posing for the cast, Macpherson took a look around the department store's lingerie department, where her lingerie collection, Elle Macpherson Intimates, is sold.


Macpherson, Australia's best-known model, has built a successful business out of her fame. As well as launching her own lingerie line, she has made fitness videos and has launched various other merchandise.


She has also managed to make the transition from modelling to acting, appearing in several films and, in 1999-2000, as Joey's roommate in the sitcom "Friends".
