Kolkata, June 03: Suspended Trinamool Congress MP Ajit Panja today shared a platform with West Bengal Congress chief Pranab Mukherjee who invited him to re-join Congress.
"Doors of Congress are always open for him. Panja was a
senior leader of Congress and also a former Union minister. He
has some political issues to sort out and he will take a
decision after considering them," Mukherjee told newspersons
after both the leaders jointly campaigned for Panja's daughter
and Congress candidate Mahua Mondal for an assembly bypoll.
Panja, who is at loggerheads with Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee for a year now, did not rule out the possibility of his re-joining Congress saying "I will take a decision in due course of time keeping in mind what is best for the people of West Bengal."
This was the first time since he left Congress along with Mamata Banerjee to float TC that Panja shared a platform with state Congress leaders.
Panja said Congress has fielded his daughter for the bypoll and invited him to campaign and "I am happy at the response of the people and also mingling of my "Muktamancha" with Congress.
