Tiger office attacked in northern Sri Lanka
Colombo, July 29: Unidentified attackers lobbed a grenade at an office of Tamil Tiger rebels in northern Sri Lanka, wounding at least one person, officials said today.
Colombo, July 29: Unidentified attackers lobbed a grenade at an office of Tamil Tiger rebels in northern Sri Lanka, wounding at least one person, officials said today.
The incident occurred in Vavuniya, 210 kms north of Colombo, just before midnight yesterday. The wounded person was a police officer, they said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, officials said, adding police and truce monitors have begun investigating the attack on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) office.
Vavuniya, a Tamil-majority area, is under government control but rebels control nearby areas.
