New Delhi, June 27: An Orissa Janata Dal (United) MLA today demanded a CBI probe into the heckling of party chief and Union Minister Sharad Yadav allegedly by activists of Biju Janata Dal at Bhubaneshwar last fortnight. In a letter to Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, the MLA Manas Rajan Mullick, strongly condemned the attack on Yadav and said it was "most unfortunate" that BJD general secretary and Orissa minister Damodar Raut had justified the incident. ".....Raut gave a statement that it is natural for anti- Naveen Patnaik elements to beat up Yadav for accepting the invitation of anti-Patnaik MLAs," Mullick said in his letter.
He claimed that when he had protested against the privatisation of Nalco in front of Orissa assembly speaker, he was "severely beaten up by the BJD MLAs and a minister".

Mullick said "while Advani was condemning the imposition of emergency in 1975, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was getting MLAs beaten up in the assembly and the Union Minister attacked publicly".
He said it was most unfortunate that after 28 years of emergency, Patnaik had imposed "undeclared emergency" in the state.
